A resurrection of art, spirit, and self

A necromancer is one who calls the dead back to life; not to haunt, but to awaken what was lost. I chose this metaphor for my first series back after years away from the canvas. In that time, I focused on healing: rebuilding my health, finding rhythm and balance, and creating habits that allowed me to breathe again. I fell in love, and with his support I found the courage to return to my passion. This series is the proof of that resurrection.

Each painting began with an old acrylic pour, poured years ago and left untouched. Layer by layer, I brought them back to life with landscapes, turning what once felt finished or forgotten into something reborn. In that process, I also brought myself back: not painting for perfection, but for purpose.

The series itself carries an arc:

• Desert Ascension — the first breath of return, a sunrise of reclamation.
• Phantom Pines — the memory of what lingers unseen, ghosts of the self that never truly leave.
• Eternal Voltage — the storm of awakening, electrifying and unrelenting.
• Celestial Aurora — reflection and balance, as above so below.
• The Owl’s Dawn — a messenger at the threshold, turning endings into beginnings.
• The Golden Guardians — the wisdom of trees and the strength of community.
• Intrinsic Tides — the cycles of expansion and retreat, surrendering to rhythm.
• Desert Euphoria — the full circle, finding beauty in home, and knowing that endings are only beginnings.
  

The Necromancer Series is my resurrection spell: eight paintings, eight passages of healing. It is a story of stillness turned to strength, silence turned to song, and the reminder that what feels lost can always be called back to life.
