The forest is never empty — it holds memory, echo, and unseen guardians who watch in silence.
Phantom Pines rises as a spectral forest, textured gold trees cresting a hillside beneath an inverted sky of shifting greens and violets. Above, a gilded moon glows against marbled darkness, its light revealing what once was hidden. With new trees and ancient skies this piece is rooted in presence yet haunted by absence. It carries the feeling of return: one of the first visions to emerge after Desert Ascension, a reminder that even after silence, whole landscapes can be called back to life.
“Phantom Pines” is my ode to what lingers unseen. Grief, resilience, memory, and spirit — all present, though often invisible. When I painted this, I was sitting with the ghosts of my own life: the versions of me I thought I lost, the seasons that seemed never ending and the ones that seemed to vanish. The love and passion still exists.
This piece is for the soul learning to trust what cannot be seen — that unseen doesn’t mean gone, and silence is not absence. The forest remembers, and so does your soul.
