Not all awakenings are gentle. Some arrive like lightning — sudden, searing, impossible to ignore.
Against storm-marbled skies, jagged bolts of green-lit electricity split the night. One saguaro is struck, seared by the charge. Another glows in blinding radiance, bathed but spared. A third stands far in the distance, quiet but trembling, holding the fear of what might come next. The desert here is not still, it’s alive, volatile, and balanced in its chaos.
“Eternal Voltage” demanded patience from me. I spent hours on the lightning, reshaping and revising until it felt alive enough to haunt me back. It’s dark, heavy, and unflinching, but also balanced: light emerging exactly where it’s needed. In many ways, it mirrors my own storms: perfectionism, fear, pressure, and how they eventually transform into energy I can wield instead of dread.
This piece is for the soul who knows the storm intimately, who has been struck, shaken, or singed and yet still stands, still glows. May you remember: lightning doesn’t just destroy, it electrifies.
